Study finds one in nine children never visit the outdoors
A survey by Natural England finds that more than one in nine children in England have not set foot in a natural environment in the past year.
The Natural England survey was sponsored by Defra and the forestry commission and found that ten per cent of children had not visited a park, forest beach or any other nautrual environment for at lesat a year.
The survey found that the enthususiam of parents for green spaces had a strong influnce on whether children visited such places.
There is plenty to do in the North Wessex Downs for children of all ages. The snowdrops are now out at Welford Park, there is a host of events for children at the Earth Trust this half term and in March the racing yards at Lambourn open their doors to the public for a fascinating glimpse into the world of top class racehorse training.
