Annual Forum 2017

Wednesday 18 October Uffington Near Wantage

The Great Outdoors

Wednesday 18 October 9:30am - 5pm
The Thomas Hughes Memorial Hall, Uffington, Oxon SN7 7RA

We are delighted to welcome Bill Bailey as our key note speaker. Bill, one of Britain's best-known comedians, has a strong connection with the North Wessex Downs dating back to visits with his family as a child. He walked The Ridgeway in 2015 and again this year to raise funds for Stand Up to Cancer. He is a great advocate for the joys and benefits of the great outdoors.

The Forum aims to bring people together to consider how they can make more of the outdoors, individually, in their organisations or in new partnerships. There are expert speakers who will explore how people enjoy and relate to the landscape, field visits and, plenty of opportunity to make new contacts and discuss ideas for new projects.

The Presentations from the Day were:

Off Road Cycling and what it means for the Ridgeway and the AONB - Roger Geffen

Walkers are Welcome - how a volunteer group cab really make a difference - Jackie Browne and Barry Carter

The Great Outdoors - and its potential to improve our mental health - Dan Knowles

The Future of the Ridgeway - Ian Ritchie

Inspiring Landscapes - Painting the Great Outdoors - Anna Dillon
