Roundway Devizes Andrew Perrott

North Wessex Downs Walking Festival 2024

Bookings are now open for our fourth annual walking festival taking place 31 May – 9 June.

We have a whole host of walks all lead by welcoming and knowledgeable guides who will bring alive some of their favourite places for you.  Visit a farm, uncover history, relax with a picnic … or simply soak up the views.  Check out all the walks on our Walking Festival pages here or you can download a programme leaflet here.

Most walks are free but all must be booked in advance and spaces are limited.

A truly special place, protected for you

From remote, rolling downland to picture postcard villages the North Wessex Downs are truly special. Undoubtedly among Britain’s most beautiful landscapes, they are somewhere to be treasured, protected and enjoyed. Straddling four counties and often unheralded, this is an area united by a single factor – chalk.
