Could you be the new Chairman of the Council of Partners?

Do you love the North Wessex Downs?  Would you like to play a leading role helping to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of this nationally-protected landscape?

As you may already know, the Council of Partners is the governing body for the AONB.  It comprises the nine local authorities in the area together with representation from the farming, recreation, nature conservation and heritage sectors.

We are looking for someone to lead the Partnership that cares for the North Wessex Downs (AONB) and help us realise the ambitions set out in the AONB’s statutory Management Plan.

This is a challenging role demanding a skilled communicator with strong leadership skills, able to influence effectively at all levels and fulfil the ambassadorial role required to promote our Partnership.  Your passion for beautiful landscapes and understanding of conservation issues will inspire others.  In return for your personal commitment and involvement in the AONB Partnership, working with a supportive team of professional staff, the role offers the reward of making a difference to one of our finest landscapes.

The role is unpaid, although an honorarium is available together with reasonable expenses.  The estimated time commitment is approximately 3 to 3½  days per month. More details and how to apply are published in the Candidate Brief which is available here or on request email susanclarke@northwessexdowns.org.uk. For an informal discussion about the role please contact Henry Oliver, Director, tel: 01488 680454.
